Welcome to my life… where rock band Simple Plan is back and in action. The popular early 2000’s band will be on tour and visiting the city on April 17th. They will be playing The Fillmore and celebrating the 15th anniversary of their 2002 album No Pads No Helmets…Just Balls which helped them breakthrough way back when.
The Montreal natives started their band back in 1999 and have been one of the premier punk rock bands in Canada. Recently, the band dropped their fifth studio album Taking One For The Team in 2016. Singles from that album include Perfectly Perfect, Singing In The Rain, and I Don’t Wanna Go to Bed. Previous to that the band has released albums in 2002, 2004, 2008, and 2011. To date their by far their biggest and most recognized work comes from their debut album, which they are celebrating on this tour. 2002’s No Pads No Helmets… Just Balls has the iconic songs Perfect, I’m Just A Kid, I’d Do Anything, and Addicted. Their songs still range from their classic pop-punk songs filled with angst to a more mature sound. The band’s sound though is still recognizable 15 year later with their recent work. Thankfully, they continue to pay homage to their breakthrough album and songs. This album, this anniversary tour, is perfect for any early 2000 pop-punk fan.
Fans of Blink-182, Sum-41, and Good Charlotte will be down for this tour since Simple Plan was a part of those original pop-punk bands that took over the early 2000s. Grab some tickets and watch this show!
