Minnesota rapper P.O.S. started the year off right with his new album Chill, dummy, which released this released this January. With contributions from Open Mike Eagle, Allan Kingdom, Kathleen Hanna, Open Mike Eagle and several others, you know the output was going to be good.
Not to let the warm weather slow down his momentum, P.O.S. dropped off the visuals for the track “Faded,” featuring vocals from Lady Midnight and Bon Iver’s very own Justin Vernon.
With a minimal drum-beat (one that sounds like Questlove on the skins) the Minneapolis native spits lyrical miracles as he effortlessly slides into the Vernon/Lady Midnight-assisted hook “Calm down.” The James Gunderson-directed vid shows the rapper rapping his bars out in the woods as well as behind a white backdrop as images are projected onto him. The minimal videos complement the simplistic song construction, leading the listener to “calm down” themselves and focus on the audio goodness.
