Pallbearer dropped a Music Video for their new track “I Saw The End” and spoiler alert.. It’s HUGE. The video starts with a slow intergalactic intro following a pyramid floating through the sky like a space ship. The first stop is on what looks to be mars but later we find its actually a recreation of Egypt. The video cuts to three men with no eyes roaming through the desert, sombering along to the eerie and ominous strum of the song, when a large flying being in robes floats down through the sky stopping at the men. The giant black robed flying life form looks scarily like death himself and actually grabs the men’s heads and upon letting go has given them eyes to see. The first thing the death figure shows the 3 men is an outline to build the pyramids of Giza. The men obediently start to build. Next scene is news flash with headlines about different forms of business and corruption followed by a businessman sitting alone snorting coke in what looks like an empty room. The business man, highly intoxicated by the drugs he has been snorting rages through a business office yelling at co workers and slapping them before he eventually starts bleeding from the nose. The video ends with flashes between the businessmen about to explode with blood running from his nose and the death figure and pyramid structure.

The video is hard to understand the first time and it’s meaning is still definitely open for discussion. But, the over all themes of the video are power and greed. Comparisons between the death figures actions and the businessman’s actions are hard to ignore. The idea that death and power have some common denominator. The idea that there has been a never-ending power cycle since the beginning of mankind. The band gave this bit of info to help viewers understand the videos meaning saying “Both song and video present a telescopic view on an eternity of corruption. The path of greed leads to misery. When higher awareness allowed us to claw our way out of the mud, we found new ways to exploit one another, abusing the gift that could bring us to new heights. In the end, we pay for our selfishness. Join us for this elegy for what might have been.” Watch below and decide for yourself.

The song is the single supporting the bands 5th studio album that is set to release March 24th. The Metal band from Little Rock, Arkansas has kept fans waiting for a full length EP since 2014. Known for delivering heavy slowed down Metal chords and huge grungy riffs the band reminds us of Black Sabbath while still bringing its own unique delivery. Profound Lore found the from their first demo tape and helped them release their full length album in 2012. Since the band has toured internationally and across the nation performing and recording albums. Now they are back to add to their catalog. If the single and video are sign of whats to come, Metal fans are in luck.
