Taylor Bennett @ Brick & Mortar 4/22

Taylor Bennett, independent rapper, brother of Chance The Rapper, and 21 years old is Bay Area bound. He’s going to be performing at Brick & Mortar on April 22nd. His tour is entitled The Taylor Bennett Show featuring Taylor Bennett and he’s playing a bunch of shows throughout the U.S.

Taylor Bennett may be Chance The Rapper’s little brother but the kid is coming into his own. He has been dropping mixtapes since 2013, which was only four years ago, but what makes that insanely impressive is that means he would have only been around 17 years old. Most kids were preparing for high school tests and this kid was dropping mixtapes independently. His most recent mixtape was this year’s Restoration Of An American Idol, which he released online like his brother for free. Some of the great songs that came off that release are Grown up fairy Tales which features his brother, Intro, and Roof Gone. Previous to that Bennett released four other mixtapes, so, he’s basically put out a mixtape every year since his career began even dropping two in 2014. Other popular songs he’s released are New Chevy, Demon Slayer, Creme Brulee, Dear Daddy, Me & You, and Dancing In The Rain. He’s got all his releases on soundcloud where you can freely listen. His musical style is very similar to his brothers. It’s melodic and smartly full of samplings of other songs. His shows have a very evident amount of heart and care that is also reflective in his lyrics and songs.

Fans of Chance The Rapper, G-Eazy, and Saba will be into this show and down for this rapper. Bennett is only going to go up from here, his affiliations and his accomplishments speak for themselves. He is impressive for a 21 year old. He doesn’t allow for corporate restraints like his brother and is able to put out amazing music for everyone. It’s admirable. So, my dudes, check and support this rapper as he’s only gonna get bigger from here.
