Lorde is back! And she seems to be brining a new single along too. With her big March 11th Saturday Night Live Performance coming up in NYC. People are ready for a big show and now they might have more to be excited about. A cryptic advertisement aired on a New Zealand T.V. channel showing her sit in what looks to be a taxi while music plays quickly followed by two dates. One date is the for the Saturday Night Live performance in New York “3.2.17 NYC”. The other date is for this “3.3.17” Friday and is stamped for location in New Zealand. People are speculating a single will be dropped on Friday in her home country. The advertisement runs as if it is a home video and only played for 15 seconds on NZ television. It also gives a feeling of comfort felt between two strangers in a taxi over light pop music. As people are quick to point out the mysterious date may actually mean nothing more than album artwork reveal. But the point is that people are hungry for new music from Lorde.

Lorde, who hasn’t released an album since Pure Heroine in 2013, has recently been teasing her new album through twitter, making it very apparent new music is on the way. She alluded that pop music is very important to culture especially in turbulent times doing a good job of building up the anticipation while also being subtle about her opinion of what seems to be the current political climate. On November 14th Lorde posted a picture with headphone stating, “Listen to the record on these every day. Wanna hear it exactly how you will,” so we know it is due soon. She has also posted proof of her in the studio with collaborator Jack Antonoff from Bleachers’/fun.’s explain that she thinks “Music coming out of Jack’s studio is some of the best of these times,” followed by “just wait.”

The New Zealand based singer has big performances on the way as she plans to head line Bonnaroo, Coachella and New Orleans Jazz Festival.
