King Crimson, who has faced the death of their bassist and singer John Wetton and Greg Lake, recently announced a summer tour that will last from June 13 to July 15.
The line up for this tour will include Robert Fripp and Tony Levin and Mel Collins, on saxophone, and singer/guitarist Jakko Jakszyk. Four drummers that will join the band including Bill Rieflin, who used to be the drummer for Ministry, then had Pigface along with Martyn Atkins and recently was the drummer for R.E.M. There also Gavin Harrison, Pat Mastelotto and Jeremy Stacey who will be a part of the drummer group. Jeremy Stacey and Bill Rieflin will also join together to take the role of keyboardists.According to Consequence of Sound, this tour configuration is referred to as the “Double Quartet Formation,” Fripp said King Crimson is “likely to be making a lot more noise than before.”
The tour will start in Seattle, Washington and end in Mexico City, Mexico. During this time, the band will travel to major cities all around the U.S, Canada and Mexico. There will be a day to four day stop between each date. Currently there are sill arrangements being made between some dates, and more dates are possible to be announced.
