Looking back, David Pajo and Bill Corgan were best pals, performing in the alt rock band Zwan. They split the band up in 2003 and has been anything but friendly ever since. Pajo is currently most known for his work in Slint and he had some pretty choice word for the Corgan, who has been the lead of the Smashing Pumpkins for many years.
As COS mentions, he had compared Corgan to the current president, Donald Trump. Pajo has discussed that Corgan is extremely wealthy and likely enjoys the “Bully-mentality” that Trump has.
As Pajo Put it “When the campaign was happening, I was like, ‘Wow, Trump is so much like Corgan,” Pajo explained in a new episode of the Kreative Kontrol podcast. “I’m sure Billy loves this guy. I know he’s a Trump supporter. He has to be. He’s got millions of dollars. He’s got that ego. He loves the ‘bully mentality.’ I don’t keep up with him, and I don’t wanna talk bad about him. But I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he was a Trump supporter. In fact, I’d be more surprised if he wasn’t.”
Many people may think that these comments came from off the wall but it has proven that Corgan has defended Trump many times in the past. His comments are not completely out of thin air, even though the duo’s relationship has been rocky since the split.
Earlier this year, Corgan decided to branch out and begin his own solo work. It has been noted by the singer that the last two albums by the band did not sell as well as anticipated and he felt like his band should be better recognized. he claims that many other band in his genre are smaller and less important bands and the fans need to work on better understanding the newer music so they can buy and appreciate it.
It will be interesting to see if Corgan comes back with anything against these claims in the coming days.
