On top of them embarking on a new tour starting off at SXSW The New Pornographers have released new music and will follow it up with the release of a new album. The group has reached a point in their career that many artists and groups never reach. Their upcoming album release will be their seventh. Whiteout Conditions will be available on April 7th. The album will be released under their own imprint, Collected Works.
“This is the World of the Theatre” premiered on Noisey and can be found on their upcoming album. The group also decided to premiere another new song in an interesting way through. “High Ticket Attractions” was premiered via an interactive lyric video that was directed by Chris Shier. A.C. Newman had this to say about the new music, “At the beginning of this record, there was some thinking that we wanted it to be like a Krautrock Fifth Dimension. Of course, our mutated idea of what Krautrock is probably doesn’t sound like Krautrock at all. But we were thinking: Let’s try and rock in a different way.”
