Cool Kids @ Empty Bottle (4/14)

The Cool Kids are performing at The Empty Bottle on April 14th, 2017.

The hip hop due got their start on the legendary stage at Chicago’s Empty Bottle back in 06/07.  Since then, the group has gone on to enjoy commercial success with their studio albums and EPs, a break up/reunion and now a 25th anniversary show.

Since the release of their debut EP “The Bake Sale” in 2008, The Cool Kids hip hop 90’s sound lead to the release of their studio album “When Fish Ride Bicycles” in 2011.  The second highly anticipated album “Shark Week” was never released in 2015 due to a temporary breakup of the group.  Since their reunion in July 2016 a slow trickle of new singles have been dropped by The Cool Kids.

“The Running Man” was the first single released this past September by the newly reunited group, followed by “Connect Four” in November. Their latest single “U Are in My System” released last month has more of a robotic/computer sound with a mix of electronic and funk influence.
