John Legend @ The Greek Theatre 5/27

Ten time Grammy winner John Legend will be making a stop at The Greek Theatre in the bay this spring! He will be playing the Berkeley based venue on May 27th. He will be touring on his Darkness and Light tour alongside R&B singer Gallant. This will be his only stop in the Bay Area.

John Legend has not only one impressive resume outside of music (UPenn grad… hello Ivy League), a beautiful kickass wife and daughter, and an active philanthropist, his musical achievements are just as incredible. He’s won 10 (TEN!) Grammys, one Academy Award, one Golden Globe, and countless others. Recently, Legend dropped his album Darkness and Light in 2016 and in the short amount of time it’s been out it has already been racking up awards and recognition. Hits from that album include Love Me Now, Penthouse Floor, and What You Do To Me. Previous to that he has dropped four other albums, his 2004 debut album Get Lifted, 2006’s Once Again, 2008’s Evolver, and 2013’s Love in the Future. His songs that have gain huge radio and critical acclaim are All Of Me, Ordinary People, You & I, and Save The Night. My personal favorite is Right By You (For Luna), which is a sweet song he dedicated by his daughter. Legend’s vocal chops are perfect for a soulful and his vocal range is insane. He has the ability to sing and write amazing songs and we’re just lucky we get to listen to him. Legend has also put out a few singles for movies, ahem, such as his duet with Ariana Grande for the upcoming Disney movie Beauty And The Beast, where they sing the classic Beauty and the Beast song, his song Start A Fire from Lala Land, and Tonight from the hit film Think like a Man.

Fans of Ne-Yo, Aloe Blacc, and Alicia Keys will be into this show and will be willing to trek up to Berkeley. John Legend is one of those talents that comes around every once in awhile, his music is iconic and, well, legendary for lack of a better term. So hit click and buy some tickets my dudes!
