HEALTH have just released a follow up to their 2010 collection, DISCO2, with a new remix album, rightfully titled DISCO3. This is the first album by the LA noise rockers since Death Magic two years ago. The new album was released via Loma Vista and features reworked versions of Death Magic tracks by Preoccupations, Purity Ring, Born in Flamez, Vessel, and more.
According to Pitchfork, the remix album will include three news songs. The reason for the new songs was described by HEALTH‘s Jake Duzsik simply, “because every remix records needs bangers.”
The new album was released via a “reverse telethon” that was hosted by Pauly Shore. The telethon was brought to us via Funny or Die and the whole show can be seen below. HEALTH used the show to answer questions, as well as to promote the new album. In a series of social media posts and in some music videos, such as “L.A. Looks,” HEALTH advertised a number that fans could call. They would then save your number after your call and using these numbers to call back during this telethon, hence the “reverse” title that the telethon got. See below for a full tracklist.
