Another week, another big announcement of showcasing artists for SXSW Music Festival. This marks the ninth round of artists announced for the music portion of the Austin, TX multimedia extravaganza. This latest lineup is heavy on fresh faces, though there are some established names like Americana singer-songwriter Langhorne Slim, Stones Throw head-honcho Peanut Butter Wolf and hometown rock ‘n roll heroes White Denim. One group that particularly stands out is one-time rap-metal chart-toppers Crazytown.
The music portion of the festival will take place from March 10-19.
In August, Langhorne Slim released his sixth studio album, The Spirit Moves. As the leader of one of electronic and hip-hop’s premier labels, Peanut Butter Wolf is always active. His label threw free festival in Highland Park, Los Angeles this fall as part of the Red Bull Sound Selects 30 Days in LA series. White Denim released an album in 2016, their April offering which was titled Stiff. As Austin natives, the band is no stranger to SXSW – in fact they played last year.
