Frank Iero And The Patience @ The Chapel 5/11

Frank Iero And The Patience is paying a visit to the Bay this spring! The former punk rocker is gonna be playing The Chapel on May 11th. He will be opened by Dave Hause and The Mermaid. This will be his only NorCal stop so mark the date my dudes.

Frank Iero may be familiar to those who were My Chemical Romance fans because he was the backup vocalist and guitarist for the band. For now though, and for our purposes, he’s flying solo under his new name and has been touring and playing music for the past 2014. His debut album was 2014’s Stomachaches which debut with the single Weighted and produced punk hits Joyriding, She’s the prettiest girl at the Party and She Can Prove It with a Solid Right Hook, and All I Want Is Nothing. After that he put out the album, his most recent work, 2016’s Parachutes. This sophomore album gave us the songs Oceans, I’m A Mess, and Veins! Veins!! Veins!!!. Ieros’ music is a big step away from MCR’s popular emo sound. His solo work leans more toward alternative punk and post-hardcore. He keeps it straight with his emotional songs and classic punk rock sound of heavy drums and guitar riffs. His music is a little more wild than MCR’s, but in a good way. The songs invoke feelings of freedom, especially I’m A Mess or have a more chill vibe like with his initial hit song Weighted.

Keep an eye out for Frankie as he makes his way around the US. Fans of his original gig, My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, and Fall Out Boy will be down for this show. As a former emo-kid, I’d say this is a great opportunity for fans to see what Frank does on his own, because he excels at it and damn good. I’ve been following his solo project since he started out and, man, I love his music. So, grab a ticket and watch some magic.
