Dillinger Escape Plan have canceled remaining tour dates up to the beginning of Spring after the American mathcore band was involved in a car accident while on the way to a show in Krakow, Poland. On Saturday February 11, The tour bus broke down and when the driver momentarily pulled over to assess the damage, a truck collided with the trailer containing their instruments and the bus. While the trailer and its remains are completely damaged, we are fortunate the crew nor band members members were seriously harmed in the accident. However, they’re currently receiving medical attention at a hospital in Zamosc to assess their injuries.
While the good news is our favorite hardcore band walked away safely from the incident; bad news is the upcoming shows in Croatia, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain and Belgium have been canceled.
“All the gear is destroyed and there are injuries – we are unable to continue this tour right now.” Guitarist Benjamin Weinman said. “The band and crew would like to thank the fans and press around the world for their concern and the Polish police and medical staff for their handling of the situation. We hope to get back to Europe soon.”
Not to worry folks, after March Dillinger Escape Plan will be back on the road and is set to headline three festivals this year including Northern Invasion, Rock the Range, and Nova Rock.
