After a period of relative silence, heavy metal hardcore punk staples and shock rock legends GWAR have just issued a statement of both good news and bad news for GWAR fans.
Bad news first: GWAR B-Q, the annual heavy metal festival hosted by GWAR (duh) has been cancelled for 2017, postponed until next year. Instead, the band has said in a press release that they “will make it up with the biggest and baddest GWAR B-Q yet when it returns in 2018.”
GWAR B-Q was postponed this year so that the band can focus on working on a new album, and a “whole new show that will blow your minds faster and harder than a meth addicted hooker blows a paycheck.” In addition, GWAR will be planning a year long tour in 2017, and is in the process of lining up dates for the “year long killing spree. For the moment, GWAR can confirm only the first couple tour dates set in April, whose tickets will go on sale this Friday, February 10th.
According to the band, details about the upcoming album will remain unspoken for now, as the band wants to move forward with great secrecy (and also because they have been busy playing Pokémon GO. More details about the recording will be made available as the band becomes willing to tell us about it, or “when we fucking want to tell you”, according to guitarist Pustulus Maximus.
