Eyehategod Joined by Phil Anselmo and More at Mike IX Williams Benefit Show

Mike IX Williams frontman for Eyehategod is in recovery following a successful liver transplant this past December. And in spite of this setback to his health, the band is hopeful he will be able to return to the stage with the band at this year’s Berserker‘ fest in April. However, even though things are definitely looking up for Williams the medical bills and inability to tour have taken an inevitable financial toll.

This has led the band to rally around Williams as they held a series of benefit performances in both New Orleans and LA and raised over $20,000. Among the bands that performed were Superjoint, Crowbar, Goatwhore, Flesh Parade, Child Bite, Thou and Classhole. Eyehategod also played with a rotating cast of friends taking over on vocals for Williams.

In addition to the benefit shows a crowd sourcing benefit was set up on YouCaring and has raised nearly $75,000 of its $150,000 goal to help offset the cost of Williams care.

Berserker IV festival will wee Williams joining the rest of Eyehategod for the first time since he underwent a liver transplant in late 2016be held this April 14th-15th. The festival is the creation of Child Bite frontman Shawn Knight and his wife Veronica and will showcase over 30 bands across three separate stages at The Crofoot in Pontiac, Mich. Also set to appear are OFF!, Weedeater, The Obsessed, Negative Approach, Brain Tentacles, Blurring, Child Bite, Immortal Bird, Horrible Earth, Cemetery Piss, F–k You Pay Me, Nightkin, Nuke, Cotton Museum, Against the Grain, Boreworm, Hollow Earth, SNAFU, Artillery Breath, Euphoria, Sunlight’s Bane, Centenary, Night Vapor, Off-Ox, Fell Ruin, Sweat and Law.
