The Silversun Pickups announce a variety of new tour dates to promote their new studio album Better Nature, released late last September. The GRAMMY Award winning group has three distinct tours outlined for the upcoming spring season. The bands first go will be a 5-stop stint in South America, which marks the bands first appearance on the continent, performing at major festivals in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Columbia. This combination of various festivals is comprised of South American versions of Lallapalooza and Columbia’s Estero Picnic Festival and lastly on co headlining performance at Brazil’s famed Circo Voador with Cage the Elephant. Their next round of gigs showcases themselves as the headlining act in a 10 cities across the U.S., starting off in Colorado and ending in Oklahoma. Full dates below. The Final leg of their extensive spring run will feature Silversun Pickups as the opening act for Mega-star rock group Third Eye Blind on their 30-date amphitheater tour celebrating the headliners 20th anniversary as a band, the tour is called “Summer Gods”.
Better Nature, released through Silversun Pickups own label New Machine Recordings, has received high praise from fans and critics alike, revered for production and mixing credit going to studio masters Jacknife Lee (U2, Two Door Cinema Club, Crystal Castles) and GRAMMY winner Alan Moulder (My bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails, Royal Blood). Since their 2009 release Swoon, that earned them the GRAMMY for best new artist that year, the band has become a household name praised for their “inimitable merging of ethereal melodies and pure sonic force” and are regarded “among the most dynamic and creative rock bands of the modern era”. The Los Angeles based alternative rock band has been rocking shows world wide ever since and don’t show any signs of slowing down.
