“Black Haired Québécoise” the title of a newly released track from the band Old Crow Medicine Show that is to be debut on their new album Best Of Old Crow Medicine Show turns out to actually have some history to it, having been recorded much earlier but never released until now. The Track is was developed in the groups early years with band members Ketch Secor and Critter Fuqua taking their second trip up to the Canadian Province of Quebec searching for inspiration in a place where the “people, young and old, know something about country music; they’ve been making it for a century and”, as stated by Secor in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. The trip was a success and gave birth to the give and take vocals on the track, which carry the song through “a narrative of a southern truck driver hauling timber to the pulp factory, breaking down in a snowstorm and meeting a beautiful Quebecoise girl”. The bilingual tune was recorded in 2006 sessions for Big Iron World but didn’t make the cut until now. They song is a jam band hit and will be sure to please fans.
