Empire of the Sun is hitting the road again for a big nation wide tour from coast to coast this spring. The shows are built around their massive Coachella main stage gigs and look to be an impressive 10-show stint. The electro glam pop duo is set to tour with The Avalanches who will be performing in the U.S. for their first time in 15 years, which is sure to bring out a flock of die hard fans waiting for the band to break their hiatus. Empire of the Sun in known for delivering an extravagantly unique glam rock experiences at shows captivating crowds around the world. They have a history of leading festivals with their catchy dance anthems that carry a somewhat sleepy pop sound. The duo is comprised of Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore who both originated from separate bands but after collaborating on tracks decided to create what we now know and love as the group, Empire of the Sun. The bands mix of catchy pop sound and new age electronic funk groove quickly caught the attention of the masses bring in huge amount of attention very on allowing the band to debut their EP, Walking on a Dream to huge success. What followed was a whirlwind of success that gave the band opportunity to tour the world headlining shows and festivals to the masses. The albums title track was a worldwide hit and the album went platinum in Australia, instantly marking the duo as pop mega stars with a niche sound that could not be competed with. The group released its next album Ice on the Dune with great reception and supported world touring. The group laid dormant silently working hard on their next album Two Vines for 3 years working with a plethora of famous producers and artist (Princes band, David Bowies Band) in several top tier studios, it was released in October of last year and was realized as an instant smash hit record, an ode to their original sound. This US tour is a realization of the hard work they put into their last album and is expected to be an amazing performance.
