After teasing fans about a possible tour, American metal band Deftones are packing up the tour bus this Summer to hit the road across North America alongside fellow hardcore punk rock band Rise Against, as a co-headlining act. Starting in June the metal heads will be kicking off the tour in Chicago, IL where they will make their way to major cities like Dallas, TX and San Diego, CA. Exactly one month from their start date, Deftones and Rise Against will be closing the tour in Phoenix, AZ at the Ak Chin Pavillion. “We’ve been talking to Rise about touring together for a while now,” confessed the Deftones during an interview about the tour. “Finally, everything aligned and we get to spend the summer playing shows with our friends. We couldn’t be more excited and can’t wait to see you at the shows.”
Deftones will likely be performing their newest album Gore, their eighth studio album released in April of last year. In its first week, the album hit number two on America’s Billboard Top 200 Album chart and recieved critical acclaim.
Pitchfork Magazine even said, “Gore is easily Deftones’ most engaging record since White Pony, filled with carefully crafted hooks disguised as bridges and transition. As with all of their best music, it sounds like the brutal, beautiful result of the band being passionate enough to rip each other’s heads off.”
