Open Mike Eagle @ UC Theatre 3/29

Rapper Open Mike Eagle is making his way into Berkeley this winter along with various other west coast stops. He’s playing the UC Theatre on March 29th as he continues his Have A Good Day tour. He is touring with WHY? and Rituals of Mine. 

Open Mike Eagle might sound familiar if you know the California based rap trio Thirsty Fish, which is comprised of him and rappers Dumbfoundead and Psychosiz. Together the skilled have released two albums, 2007’s Testing The Waters and 2011’s Watergate. Although, his most recent solo work includes his 2016 Hella Personal Film Festival. This album is responsible for the hits The Curse of Hypervigilance,I Went Outside Today, and Admitting the Endorphin Addiction. That album has climb the ranks of Spotify and each song mentioned has well over a million hits each. Previous the that, he has three previous albums and EP that he has released. The EP A Special Episode is responsible for the his biggest hit Ziggy Stardust, Dark Comedy Late Show, and Split Pants in Detroit. Previously, his other albums 2014’s Dark COmedy and 2012’s 4NML HSPTL, 2010’s Unapologetic Art Rap. Eagle’s rap style is fun and different, it’s got an alternative edge that you won’t hear everyday. His raps are witty, they got bite most don’t. Take a listen and add a hit to his Spotify count, because I promise you won’t regret it.

Fans of KOOL A.D, Dumbfoundead, and Milo will be down for this show and this rapper. Fun fact, he conducted a study for the National Institute of Health where he studied the brain’s activity during freestyle rapping. So come kick it and be a part of his study in wit, style, and rap.
