Paris Jackson Is Convinced Her Father Michael Jackson Was Murdered

Today, Rolling Stone published an interview with Paris Jackson, who is most famous for being one of the children of late pop icon Michael Jackson. In her first-ever in-depth interview, Jackson touches on a wide variety of subjects, most interesting of which is her opinions of his tragic death in 2009. In the conversation, she reveals that she is “convinced” her father was murdered.

She references the singer “dropping hints” that he was being followed – and one day even saying point-blank “They’re gonna kill me one day.” She concedes “It sounds like a total conspiracy theory and it sounds like bullshit, but all real fans and everybody in the family knows it. It was a setup. It was bullshit.” Critics who may ask why she is only now revealing this information are answered in the interview, with Jackson explaining “It’s a chess game” and that she is playing the game the right way.

Michael Jackson passed away on June 5, 2009 in Holmby Hills, an upscale neighborhood of Los Angeles. He was in rented mansion when he fell unconscious and was unable to be resuscitated. Within a matter of hours, he was dead – the cause of death was determined to be from a lethal combination of drugs. Propofol, lorazepam, and midazolam were all found in his system, causing the doctors on-site to deem the cause of death as a homicide. This in turn resulted in personal physician Conrad Murray being charged with manslaughter and eventually sentenced to four years in prison (he served two). Meanwhile, Jackson’s mother filed lawsuit against concert promoter AEG, citing their role in hiring Dr. Murray as Jackson’s personal physician. The company was  found not liable.

Elsewhere in the interview, Jackson talks about allegations of child molestation that were leveled against her father: “Picture your parent crying to you about the world hating him for something he didn’t do,” she says. “And for me, he was the only thing that mattered. To see my entire world in pain, I started to hate the world because of what they were doing to him.”

Paris is Michael Jackson’s second child with Debbie Rowe, and his only daughter. She was born in 1998 and is now 18 years old. For the most part, she and her brothers Michael Jackson Jr. and Blanket Jackson have stayed as far out of the spotlight as possible.  There is no doubt being raised by one of the most complicated figures in pop culture would leave anyone with an interesting perspective on life, and much of that is revealed in what makes for a very fascinating Q + A.
