The Pixies Announces Spring 2017 Tour Dates

One of the most influential alternative rock bands, Pixies have announced their 2017 North American tour dates. The first show of the tour will take place in Pomona, California on April 21st at the Fox Theatre eventually traveling across the US for their final show on May 26th in Brooklyn, New York. In 2016, the Pixies began the tour in November, selling out shows all over UK to reaching the end of the European stretch of the tour in Birmingham on December 8th.

Since the 1990’s the Pixies help revolutionize grunge rock and have been an influence to some of the most prominent names in music. In 1994,  frontman of Nirvana Kurt Cobain, said in an interview with Rolling Stone, that he was “basically trying to rip off the Pixies” in one of the bands biggest hits “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

In September, the Boston-natives released their sixth studio album Head Carrier PIAS and Pixiesmusic. The 12-trak album was produced by english produce Tom Dalgety and features the first appearance of their bass guitarits Paz Lenchantin since he joined the band in 2014.

Post-punk band, Public Access TV and  indie-rock, band Cymbals Eat Guitars will be splitting the tour and supporting the band in various locations. Tickets to the general public will go on sale Friday January 27 at 10 a.m.  For pre-sale information visit the bands website.
