The Bouncing Souls @ Slims 3/22

Pop-punk originals, The Bouncing Souls are making their way to the city this winter and in a big way. The band is heading out west for the Simplicity tour which will be making a stop at Slim’s on March 22nd. The band will be sharing the stage with their openers, AJJ, GET DEAD, and The Bombpops.

The Bouncing Souls started out in 1989 and have been around ever since. They’re coupled with other bands with the glory of the genre of pop-punk. They have dropped 10 (10!) albums in the last 20 years and continue to tour. Recently, the band dropped their album Simplicity 2016. That album’s hits include Bees, Driving All Night, and I Wanna Be Bored. Previous to that, the band’s other hits include I Know What Boys Like, from their first studio album, 1999’s Hopeless Romantic and Ole, 2006’s Lean On Sheena, and 2001’s True Believers. Personally, one of my favorite songs is East Coast Fuck You!, which is a funny homage to the east coast and the beauty it offers… but west coast all the way. The band’s ability to make their power-punk songs timeless is, in my opinion, what makes this band so great. They are like fine wine, The Bouncing Souls just keep getting better with age.

Fans of Anti-Flag, Bad Religion, and The Vandals will be down for this show. They are pop-punk as hell, they are fun, and this band just kicks ass. They will bring on the nostalgia for long time punk fans and engage the younger crowd with their carefree and fast ballads. Come kick it as some of the best punk innovators hit the stage at Slim’s! I’ll catch ya there!
