Summer’s hit teen sensation Shawn Mendes is coming to Oakland this summer. He’s embarking on his Illuminate World tour, which is hitting up European and North American in various locations. The concert will be taking place in the Oracle Arena on July 11th.
This teenager hit it big especially this summer where his songs were played nonstop on the radio. His stuff soulful voice coupled with his guitar skills is the perfect recipe for success. Most recently, Mendes put out his sophomore album Illuminate in 2016 and that hit instant success. The hit singles from that album Mercy and Treat Your Better were everywhere, you couldn’t go to the store without it being spun on your car radio. This boy hit it big with his sweet vocals. In his debut album, which released back in 2015 which was entitled Handwritten, Mendes also made his debut on the radio waves. Think back to the year of 2015 when we were fretting over the death of a certain Game of Thrones character or the end of Parks and Rec… yup that’s when this boy made his mark. He released his instant radio hits Stitches and I Know What You Did Last Summer, common ask any girl in high school and they will tell you all about these songs or sing them for ya.
Fans of Justin Bieber, Cody Simpson, and One Direction (or ya know whoever went solo) should hit up the arena when Mendes rolls into town. His commercial success is fun and reminds you of way back when Justin Timberlake went solo. He’s got a fun pop vibes that’s sure to make you smile and sing along, so click hit and grab some tickets.
