LISTEN: The Shins Release New Songs “The Fear” And “Name for You” After Prairie Home Companion Appearance

Back in October of 2016, The Shins released the single “Dead Alive.” After releasing this new track, The Shins finally announced their new upcoming album Heartworms out March 10, 2017 via Columbia Records, which will be the first LP from the band since 2012’s Port of Morrow. The announcement of the new album came after the release of another new song “Name for You.”

After releasing two other new songs from the upcoming LP, the band debuted a third single “The Fear” on yesterday’s edition of Prairie Home Companion. Broadcasting live in Seattle from the Paramount Theater, the new single brings sweet harmonious sounds. The track is simple and soothing as the fiddle plays giving us that signature Shins sound. In addition to the debut of a new single, the band also performed “Gone for Good” and “St. Simon” from their 2003 album, Chutes Too Narrow.

Check out the entire broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion on January 7, 2017 of The Shins performing here. “The Fear” plays at the 1:24:54 mark.
