Daniel Bachman @ The Empty Bottle (2/3)

American Primitive Guitar is a transitional type of music comprised of folk, blues, country and new-age guitar techniques.  The sound was originated in the 1950’s by John Fahey, the American composer named number 35 on Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

A big player in growing this genre’s popularity is Daniel Bachman.

Daniel Bachman is a 27 year old guitar savant currently living in Durham, NC.  He has already released 7 solo guitar albums which show off his mad skills but his latest, Rivers, has gained positive reviews all around for his ability to create a cohesive piece of work.  The album was inspired by the Rappahannock River which winds its way through his home state of Virginia.  The river affected the flow of the album such that Bachman is able to tell a story without lyrics using folk, psychedelic and blues components which complement each other.  Each of the seven tracks on the album consist of many different elements combined to create a unified sound.

Don’t miss the change to see Daniel performing in Chicago at The Empty Bottle on February 3rd.  Show starts at 9PM.
