Hardly needing an introduction, Antwan Andre Patton Sr, better known as Big Boi (“…aka Daddy Fat Sax, aka Luscious Leftfoot…”) comes to perform his DJ set in Chicago in February. Best known as one half of legendary hip hop duo Outkast, the Atlanta rapper brought us such hits as “The Way You Move” and “Ms. Jackson”. He has also earned critical acclaim for his creative lyricism as a solo artist releasing Sir Lucious Left Foot in 2010 followed by Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors in 2012.
Big Boi spent 2016 splitting his time between a DJ Residency in Las Vegas at the Wynn and performing – both solo and with Phantogram – an electronic/rock duo made up of longtime friends Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel. The trio combined their musical acts in 2015 to create Big Grams, an experimental hip hop group popular in festival lineups. Their self-titled album debuted at number 38 on the Billboard 200 to mixed reviews.
A fixture on the rap scene for over 20 years, Big Boi’s creative sound is a juxtaposition of being both constantly changing and continually classic; his many collaborations and innovations keep us guessing on what his next project will be.
Big Boi will perform his DJ set on February 25th at The Mid @ 10PM
w/ Shazam Bangles, Stefan Ponce, DJ Trew and DJ White Owl
General Admission $15-$25
