A Look Back: Unedited Devo Interview From Night Flight 1981

According to Dangerous Minds, an unedited interview with DEVO, who has  Devo’s Butch Devo and the Sundance Gig available for streaming through Qello, on Night Flight was released.

Night Flight is a program that originally aired from 1981 to 1988, then changed into a streaming video channel and a website. The program was created by Jeff Franklin, Cynthia Friedland and Stuart S. Shapiro and contains a mix of music videos, interviews, movies, documentaries, stand up comedy, cartoons, etc.

The program is freeform with the mission to show and celebrate creativity, this weekend’s program featuring the creativity of DEVO.

One part of the program’s broadcast was its “Take Off” segment, which would be a collection of music videos, interviews, etc. relating to the subject presented in the broadcast. For this “Take Off” segment, the show showed the forty minute unedited interview of DEVO. In this interview, the band discusses many topics such as their motivations, ideas, concepts behind the New Traditionalists LP, responses to their work and topics about the news during that time.
