Swedish heavy metal group Cult of Luna announced via Facebook they will release a live DVD set entitled Years In a Day. They release their seventh studio album Mariner (a collaboration with vocalist Julie Christmas) back in April.
The Years in a Day compilation features a dynamic set of footage and audio gathered from various tour dates. It includes two our of live performance video shot in Paris last year at La Gaîté Lyrique, two live CD’s from Roadburn Festival 2013 and 2016, and the hi res digital audio from the Paris performance. The set bound in a collector 10inch vinyl digipack.
The group said via Facebook they hope the compilation helps make up for their recent dearth of tour dates.
“Releasing DVDs and live documents is always a tough thing at all aspects but that was the right time to do it for the people that are not able to see this band live often and everywhere, and so to end an era,” they said. “So here is how.”
Since forming in 1998, Cult of Luna have released seven studio albums, including three full-length releases since 2010. Their last album, Mariner, received generally positive critical acclaim.
You can pre-order the compilation on January 20th.
