Enter Shikari Announce Spring 2017 Take To The Skies 10th Anniversary Tour Dates

British rockers Enter Shikari have given fans across the pond reason for celebration after announcing a North American tour this upcoming spring, with American hardcore band Being As An Ocean directly supporting the group on the road and an unannounced act to open the shows.

The tour comes as the band celebrates the 10th anniversary of its debut album, Take to the Skies, and they are eager to share the moment with fans.

“We’re glad we were able to include North America in the plans for the 10th anniversary shows,” vocalist Rou Reynolds said in a statement. “We’ve been making the track across the Atlantic regularly since the album’s release, and there’s a lot of people still coming to shows today that have been with us since the very start.”

While the band doesn’t want the shows to be “cliched ‘play the album front-to-back,’” they will certainly focus on the significance and impact of their first album. “It’s going to be a celebration of that album,” Reynolds says. “It’s important for us to recognize the importance of this album to us, and for the family of people who have supported us since those early days…I cannot wait to play some of the tracks we haven’t played since 2007, or even ever!”

Making it to the point of even having a ten-year anniversary is special in-of-itself to Reynolds. “The fact that we get to reminisce and relive tracks we recorded so long ago…is something I could have never anticipated back then and fills me with appreciation for everyone that has supported this band over the years.”

The exciting announcement for fans comes after the band drops yet another record in the long list of live albums with the release of Live at Alexandra Palace this past November.

In addition to the live album, the band also released a music video for the loosie “Hoodwinker,” earlier this month. While no original release is scheduled, the standalone track should hold fans over until they can watch the band perform live when they set out on the road this spring.
