Austra has released a new video for the title track from their upcoming full-length studio albumFuture Politics. In addition to the new song and video the band has announced additional dates to their existing tour. The winter 2017 tour will take the band from their home country of Canada, across the United States and over the Atlantic to Europe and the United Kingdom. The band previously released the single and video for “Utopia” in October.

Like the previous video, Austra seems to be making some sort of social comment with their new video for “Future Politics.” The cut begins with aerial footage of a downtown district and sped-up clips of highway interchanges. As the song transitions into a wobbly chorus, Katie Stelmanis is shown singing into the camera between clips of pedestrian traffic crossing city thoroughfares. The video focuses on a few suit-clad subjects, who appear to be enduring some sort of Pepto-Bismal nosebleed as they flail through abandoned Brutalist settings. Midway through the song, the color scheme suddenly swaps the cold and inhuman greys of the concrete corporate world for more luminous hues, perched high above the city streets.

Judging from the first two singles from Future Politics, Austra is poised to have a big 2017.
