Kurt Vile Announces Winter 2017 Tour Dates

According to CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND, Kurt Vile has announced a new tour in a unique way by including Philadelphia Eagles player Connor Barwin in a promotional video posted on YouTube.

This announcement comes after last year’s tour “B’lieve i’m goin Down…”. The new tour begins on December 13th in Dallas Texas and transitions to the east coast to continue into the new year. But before that, Kurt Vile and the Violators will be playing a New Year’s Eve show in Philadelphia at The Fillmore.

To assist with promoting the New Year’s Eve show, Philadelphia Eagles outside linebacker Connor Barwin participated in a commercial that included an indie-rock fan screaming over the planned performance while Kurt Vile’s brother takes pop rock covered jello shots. It ends with Vile getting tackled by Barwin and madness beginning to take place.

On December 21st, Vile is scheduled to perform at Joe’s Pub Presents: A Holiday Special on the IFC channel. The special will also include house band The Dap-Kings, actor Tony Hale, singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb, comedians Bridget Everett and Jen Kirman along with more guests.

Vile has been consistent this year, touring in both the Summer and Spring and performing at festival in May. The promotional video for the New Year’s Eve show can be seen below.
