At the beginning of this year Portugal. The Man announced their upcoming new album titled Gloomin + Doomin. This album is a follow up to 2013’s Evil Friends. In celebration of the new upcoming album, the group has shared a new video for one of the tracks included on the album titled “Noise Pollution (Version A, Vocal Up Mix 1.3.” The group has been working on this new record with the one and only Michael Diamond before making a quick stop to shoot this video.
Portugal. The Man shared the official video for the track that was filmed in Alaska with director Michael Ragen. The video features Zoe Manville and Mary Elizabeth Winstead. The group posted more background to the track and video revealing that it has been a rough month. Without being dramatic, the group observes that there is a lot of “noise” right now in the world and they feel that it just might drown us all with the challenge of trying to figure out whats fact, opinion, and what is completely false. Even though they may not quite make much sense of it or tell us how to make sense of it, but that is where the beauty of music comes in to play. Now is the right time for the band to reveal to the fans this video giving us an idea of what “Noise Pollution” truly is about.
The illusive video reveals the chaotic nature that surrounds us all. Portugal. The Man runs, swims, and climbs from the chaos trying to find truth from false. It is not just him alone, but all of us together with the illusion of confusion. The video is the perfect portrayal of the turmoil that rages inside of all of us.
