Giraffe Tongue Orchestra Cancels Tour Due To Brent Hinds Injury

Mastodon singer/guitarist Brett Hinds broke his leg in a motorcycle accident yesterday, forcing him to cancel supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra’s first ever tour. The group was scheduled to begin touring tomorrow.

Hinds’ break occurred as he was attempting to start his bike. His injury is serious enough to require surgery.

Giraffe Tongue Orchestra released their debut LP, Broken Lines, on September 23. Alice in Chains singer William DuVall, Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman, Dethklok bassist Pete Griffin, and former Mars Volta drummer Thomas Pridgen form the remainder of the group’s lineup.

The band expressed their disappointment via Facebook. They hope to reschedule the tour following Hinds’ recovery. Refunds will be available at point of sale.
