Steven Patrick Morrissey, mostly known as Morrissey, has postponed the rest of his fall tour.
The tour has been going on since August 16, in Berlin, Germany, going on for three months. Morrissey had dealt with many cancellations during this tour such as a show in Boulder, Colorado on November 14 because his keyboardist Gustavo Manzur, who collapsed before the show. He had also cancelled three tour dates in Texas because Manzur was recovering from his illness that took place during the time period of the show in Boulder, Colorado.
According to Rolling Stone, the singer released a statement saying “Due to a member of the Morrissey touring party’s illness, and a full recovery is expected shortly, this week’s shows have been postponed” during the time of his show in Cleveland. He had also released another statement, after Manzur’s collapse in Denver, saying “This is a family, we stay together, and we can’t move until we know what’s happened to him, we’re going to sit backstage for awhile and wait to see what’s happened to him, if there’s any magical cure.”
According to SPIN, Morrissey’s remaining U.S. tour dates have been moved to December. These dates will be for his show in Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago and Houston, and will begin on December 7th.
Tickets purchased for the original shows will be honored at the new gigs. Ticket holders who cannot attend the rescheduled shows can contact the venues for refund information. Remaining tickets for select performances are on sale now.
During Morrissey’s tour, he had covered the Ramones’s “Judy Is A Punk”.
