Since her younger days playing the piano in the Soviet Union, Regina Spektor has become a talented artist who decides to reflect on her memories in the recently released music video for “Bleeding Heart” off her album Remember Us To Life, this reported by CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND.
The video was directed by her husband, Jack Dishel, in the video Spektor is accompanied by a colorful cartoon background filled with buildings and a water tower. These images come one after another as the video moves back and forth between Skeptor singing and old photos of her upbringing.
The video ends by showing a video of Skeptor when she was a little girl playing piano on stage in front of a crowd of people, who can be heard clapping at the very end.
“Throughout my childhood I’d sometimes get tired of standing as [my father] took his light meter readings or asked me to play piano or pose,” Spektor explained to NPR. “But now when I look back on every recorded moment, I’m just grateful. It took hard work and patience on his part — most of the photos were developed and printed by him in his darkroom in spare time from work.”
This has been a busy year for Spektor, as she is scheduled to perform at the Thanksgiving Day Parade
