The Weeknd Releases New Video for “Mania”

Canadian singer, songwriter Abél Makkonen Tesfaye who is better known as the Weeknd is releasing his new album Starboy tomorrow. Building up to this much-awaited release Tesfaye paired up with music-video director Grant Singer, to make a 12-minute short film called “Mania”.The short film recently released init’s entirety doesn’t just feature the new song “Mania” but also includes clips of several previously unreleased songs “All I Know” ft. Future, “Sidewalks” ft. Kendrick Lamar, “Secrets” (sampling from80s hits from Tears For Fears and the Romantics, and “Die For You”. The storyline in the short film was written by the Weeknd himself drawing from the movie “Cat People” includes panthers, murders, and fancy cars.

 
This new collaboration which also features Daft Punk isn’t the first time Singer and Tesfaye have worked together. They previously paired up for “Tell Your Friends”, “Can’t Feel My Face”, and the hit single “The Hills”. In addition to his work with the Weeknd Singer has also worked with artists such as Skrillex, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Ariana Grande and Lil Wayne.
