Groovie Mann and JDN Form Trash Deity and Release New Song “Finger on a Trigger”

Groovie Mann from My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult and JDN, also known as John D. Norten, from Blue Eyed Christ have teamed up to create Trash Diety. With this, they released a new single for this new project.

According to the press release, Trash Diety is “an eclectic Industrial project combining classic sounds with modern, polished music production. ” In a interview Rock Revolt Magazine asked the members how they would describe their music. Groovie Mann replied by saying “It’s  who I am & someone else too, & now 30 years later its a whole bunch of people who are me in the studio & just a few for the day! (the less the better ) hah especially, in the day! Sybil!!!”, while JDN replied by saying “Genre wise it’s usually referred to as Industrial, or EBM, or a few other things, I suppose. I never really minded the Industrial tag like a lot of other artists. Honestly, I’ve worked with so many artists in different  genres, I really do think there is good and bad in every genre. I engineered some Gospel records even that were nominated for Grammy’s; it doesn’t get much farther away from Blue Eyed Christ than that! I’ll tell you though, the choir we had that opened one of those Gospel albums could have been from a death metal band. It was pretty epic.”

The band has released a new song called “Finger on a Trigger”, a single that will feature in their introductory EP Run 4 Your Lies! The video for this song premiered through Metal Underground and contains many painting designed by Neil Kull, a photographer and graphic designer. The video for this song is shown below.

With the production of the new album JDN says “I think the forthcoming EP is a really exciting representation of Groovie Mann and I experimenting and discovering what our sound is as Trash Deity. It’s an eclectic EP because we weren’t locked into a sound or expectation from our previous projects. One song is electronic for the clubs with a pounding bass line and signature Groovie Mann maniacal vocal chants, then another is a sexy dirty strip club anthem. Each song has it’s own identity, but the EP still sounds totally cohesive and chaotic at the same time…just like us!”

Before the new project was created, Groovie Mann has recently finished a summer tour with his band.
