According to CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND, LIV has blessed its loyal fan base with another reason to be excited. LIV has released a new song titled “Dream Awake”. Lykke Li, Andrew Wyatt and Pontus Winnberg of Miike Snow, and Björn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John have all joined forces to form a Swedish super group called LIV. The group also features the well known Grammy award winning hip hop super producer Jeff Bhasker.

The group previously introduced themselves to new ears by releasing the debut single “Wings of Love” and they are now back with “Dream Awake” a relaxing, mellow vibe that could easily be included on someone’s playlist.

The song was not released as simple audio. It is accompanied by footage shot in a way that references a time before cameras were as advanced as they are now. The camera angle gives an over looking point of view to the view because it puts them at eye level with the tall buildings.

The camera angle acts as symbolism, as the lyrics “Dream Away” are repeated the camera begins to move further and further away from the buildings. Almost to symbolize the idea of someone feeling that they are floating while dreaming. It’s a feeling that acts as the reason why many people enjoy their sleep and dreams because it’s the only way they can escape.

The footage that accompanies the song also shows a very busy freeway, possibly rush hour traffic. The commotion that comes with everyday life can make people want to get away and the song does a good job at giving the listener a chance to escape.

With the release of this song, fans of LIV are hoping that there is an album on the way that follows up “Dream Awake”.
