Guerilla Toss Van Caught On Fire, Funding For A New One

Arising as a Bostonian art rock band, Guerilla Toss remains east coast but fled to a more populated New York, NY. Thus far, they have released four studio albums, seven EP’s and one remix album. Amongst the large collection of songs they have composed, success is following them closely. Currently signed with DFA Records, Rolling Stones has granted them “Top 10 Greatest Modern Punk Bands.”

Guerilla Toss has been influenced in their music by jam bands such as The Grateful Dead. Fans have deemed acceptance of their anomalous approach to punk rock because of their ability to blend together elements of disco, funk and dance into their music. They are renown for their odd time signatures, shrieking, dissonant instrumentals and symphonious vocals. Additionally, they have cinematic high-energetic performances with live visual projections and light shows to get the fans riled up.

With performances approaching in New York this month and early December, the band hit a bump in the road. Their tour van ruptured into flames due to a spontaneous combustion. The band is patiently waiting to see if insurance will have coverage for this accident. In the mean time, they have sprouted a GoFundMe page for a new band to get from concert to concert. They shared on social media,

“Kassie just put new tires on the van and was driving thru BK to meet up with DFA RECORDS for pizza business meeting when the engine starting smoking. She pulled over and the van burst into flames!! Luckily no one was hurt and there was pretty much nothing of value in the van besides a bunch of dead tapes and Terence McKenna ‘Food Of The Gods’ book. The fire debt was super chill and helpful and pretty quickly ruled out that we had intentionally set the car on fire. Insurance claim was filed but not really sure yet if spontaneous combustion is covered :/”

Fortunately, the show must go on. Despite the accident, Guerilla Toss performed at the Boston Hassel Fest last weekend. Thus far, they will still perform on November 20th with Pile and Jackal Onasis at he Marlot Hotel in Brooklyn, NY. And also, at New York’s The Haunt on December 3rd.
