Almost Acoustic Christmas Announces 2016 Lineup Featuring Beck, Phantogram and M83

Some people wish for a white Christmas, others wish to be home for the holidays but ultimately it’s the season of giving. What is more festive then attending a charitable concert?

For two nights only; December 10th and 11th, The Forum is hosting the annual Almost Acoustic Christmas concert presented by KROQ-FM. Tickets go on sale this Friday; November 11th. Starting at $75.00 per ticket, they are available for purchase only at ticketmasker.com. Before purchasing tickets however, you must be a member of the KROQ Street Team because this will give you an exclusive password that is needed to order the tickets. The password has been emailed out to members as of Monday and will be emailed our again on Friday morning before the sale. The tickets can only be purchased with a credit card and each member is limited to four tickets per night. Proceeds from the tickets will go to local charities, Para Los Niño’s and The Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center.

Para Los Niño’s is a non-profit social services and education organization that is dedicated to breaking the cycle of low-income families. They strive to achieve their mission in the heart of Los Angeles by giving youth, children and families below the poverty line high-quality education, family support, mental health services, parent engagement and community building opportunities. Each year they serve about 7,500 people.

In conjunction with, The Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center is a non-profit organization originating in South-Central Los Angeles to combat gang related violence in the neighborhood. In doing so, the foundation provides the youth with year-round extracurricular programs. During the school year, they have an After-school program and then during the summer months they have a camp for children to attend.

The Almost Acoustic Christmas concert began in 1989 and was originally called the “Xmas Bash.” Gaining popularity in the 1990’s the show began to host bigger name alternative rock bands and singers. Including, The Violent Femmes, The Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, David Bowie and many more. Recently, they released the lineup for 2016’s festival.
