Download Festival Paris Announce 2017 Headliners Including System of a Down, Prophets of Rage and Blink-182

Since 2003, Donington Park in Leicestershire, England has held an annual British summer rock and heavy metal festival. Being one of the most popular rock festivals in England they have hosted many big names from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Kiss, Aerosmith and many other prominent rock/heavy metal figures. This upcoming year, Download Festival UK will take place at the same time as Download Festival Paris this upcoming year. No announcements have been made on the various musicians performing at Download Festival UK yet. But, there is speculation that estimates there will be announcements on this subject within the next week.

While rock junkies conceptualize the line up for Download Festival UK, Paris begins to plan for their second consecutive year Download Festival return. Last year, they had performances from All Time Low, Municipal Waste, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and many more. About three weeks ago, System of a Down was confirmed to be a headliner for Paris.

System of a Down is an Armenian-American heavy metal band that was formed in 1994. Consisting of Seri Tankian (vocalist/keyboard), Daron Malakian (vocalist/guitarist), Shavo Odadjian (bassist) and John Dolmayan (drums). This quartet came soaring out of California with immaculate success within the music industry. Releasing only five studio albums, three of them debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Not to mention the four nominations for Grammy’s. Their hit single, “B.Y.O.B” won The Best Hard Rock Performance of 2006. With the band ascending into a reputable heavy metal standpoint, they fell to crumbs. In August 2006 the band had dissembled. Prosperously, they decided to get back together in November 2010, following a three-year tour.

More recently, they have dropped a few other names in the mix for Download Festival Paris. Including, Blink-182, Prophets of Rage, Linkin’ Park, Public Enemy, Rage Against The Machine and Cypress Hill super-group. The festival will be held from June 9^th-11^th, 2017.
