Sick Of It All has recently released a new video for their song “Black Venom”. This song will be a part of the upcoming album When The Smokes Clears, which will be release on November 4th through Century Media Records. According to the press release, this release will celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary.
Created by Cloud Music Typography, the lyric video adds many special effects to make smoother transitions such as the spins, the moving colors filling the space of the letter and the colors following after the lyrics change. Along with the special effects on the words, parts of the band’s logo were shaking in the background to align to with the beat of the drums. The lyrics are shown below.
As for the band’s anniversary, the guitarist Pete Koller had said “Thirty years … well, it was fun. I would not say an achievement because we never really wanted to achieve something. We just kept on playing. There are also no regrets. What’s done is done and if you fucked something up back then, so what?” He had also added “there is no secret on how to keep doing what you do for thirty years. We never said that we are going to do this or that … we just kept on playing. When we came along, it seemed to be the perfect time for our Sick Of It All style of hardcore. We have a certain style; it changed over the years [but] not much. I still write a lot of the music, but Craig writes a little more now and our music is whatever comes out of us.”
After playing at Webster Hall to celebrate their 30th anniversary, the band decided to announce the release date for their upcoming album When the Smoke Clear in order to continue this celebration.
