Swedish duo, Icona Pop, has released a new song called “Brightside, which will feature on their upcoming international LP. This song was released through Big Beat Records.

This song was produced by Jarrad Rogers, who was also a collaborator with the song “Someone Who Can Dance” and Freddy Kennett, who is from Louis The Child. The duo collaborated with Rogers, Kennett and Joni Fatora when writing the lyrics for that song. The song can be listened to below.

This song is a contrast to their previous songs, like “Someone Who Can Dance”, because of its slower electronic beats and positive lyrics. According to the press release, “true to its name, the track features breezy production, carefree vocals, and an irresistible chorus that you’ll be singing in your head until next summer.” Along with this style of vocals,  the beats adds on by including drums, synths, and piano.

The duo explained that Brightside is very important and emotional song because it was about their friendship. Brightside revolves around the theme of making someone you love feel better when they feel down, and with this new song, the duo hopes to create a new style that will reflect who they are.

Over the summer, the duo released a new song called Weekend with the electric duo Louis The Child.
