Photos: Desert Daze Festival 2016 Day 3 Including Television, Brian Jonestown Massacre a Tribute to Alan Vega and More

The final day of Desert Daze 2016 was bittersweet; with so many great bands playing that night, it was sad to know the festival was coming to an end. By Sunday, the attendance for Desert Daze had reached full capacity with hundreds of fans looking to enjoy themselves for one last time.

Some of the highlights on the day were the surf psych band La Luz, an energetic punk party with METZ and the always-great ’70s band Television.

Suicide was originally scheduled to be perform but due to the passing of frontman Alan Vega in July, instead they paid tribute to the band featuring guests like Ariel Pink.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre finished the night by playing a two and a half hour set that, against all odds, left fans wanting more.

Overall, Desert Daze was a fun festival to attend. It wasn’t as overcrowded as Coachella or Ozzfest and every stage was at least a good 10 minutes away from another other. Free water was always available and fans were never rowdy. We’re looking forward to next year!

Mauricio Alvarado: I've been a concert photographer for the past 5 years. My work has been featured on various music magazines and websites. Some of the bands I've photographed are Yes, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Rob Zombie, Santana, and many more. I'm obsessed with 70's Progressive Rock music. I enjoy photographing bands that I grew up listening to. I'm also a big vinyl record collector since I was in High School. I always enjoy taking my albums to shows and getting them signed by the bands.
