In recent years, streaming giant, Netflix has grown to levels far beyond where it was initially imagined to end up. This is due in part to a number of reasons. Obtaining the rights to beloved films and television shows of the past that already have an audience grows the Netflix user base. One of the other reasons, possibly the biggest reason, is their development of original content. Some of these shows and films have gained cult followings to the point where one of their films Beasts of No Nation, when not nominated for an Oscar contributed to the Oscars So White controversy last year.
The shows that Netflix presents such as Daredevil, Stranger Things, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Lemony Snicket has earned them a good reputation among an audience who is beginning to turn away from cable television. According to Pitchfork, recently, one of their other shows “Black Mirror” received some special treatment from Portistshead’s Geoff Barrow and composer Ben Salisbury. They decided to score an episode of the Netflix series. The full soundtrack for the show is available via Invada/Lakeshore. These two has collaborated recently on the celebrated film Ex Machina which they won a Novella award for Best Original Score.
