WATCH: Esmé Patterson Releases New Video for “Not Feeling Any Pain” and Announces Split 7″ with William Elliott Whitmore

Following the release of her new full-length We Were Wild over the summer, folksy songwriter Esmé Patterson returns with new music. While not an original piece penned by Patterson, it is a cover of William Elliott Whitmore’s 2011 song “Not Feeling Any Pain.” The infectious track is given the jangle-pop treatment, characterized by a bouncing bass-line, fuzzy guitars and Patterson’s charming vocals. The accompanying video is shot in Downtown Los Angeles and environs, with Patterson dancing along to the pogoing track.

The song will be included on a limited edition 7″ that the two artists are releasing together, titled William Elliott Whitmore & Esme Patterson Play Each Other’s Songs. The two-song record will also include Whitmore covering a Patterson tune, “Elyslum.” Just 1000 copies will be released on November 18 through Bloodshot Records. The 7″ can be pre-ordered from the Bloodshot Records site.

Whitmore’s last release was 2015’s Radium Death.

Patterson hails from Colorado, one of the founding members of the Denver area band Paper Bird. As a solo artist, she may be best known for her collaborative track with Shakey Graves, “Dearly Departed.” With the release of We Were Wild this year, Patterson has released four solo albums.

She is currently on tour in the United Kingdom in support of Frank Turner. Find dates below.
