Vancouver indie rock outfit Destroyer consists of a set of more than ten revolving musicians, but at the center of it all there has always been mastermind Dan Bejar. In feature of his talents alone, Bejar went on a solo tour under the Destroyer name, and wrapped it up just earlier this month.
Throughout the tour, the musician, armed with nothing but a trusty acoustic guitar, debuted a number of unreleased tracks. Earlier today, footage for one of these songs, a quiet piece by the name of “A Light Travels Down the Catwalk (Boulevard of Sin)” has surfaced, courtesy of an audience member at Bejar’s show in Orlando.
Destroyer’s latest record, Poison Season, featured classic Destroyer-brand abstract lyricism, which can also be found on “A Light Travels Down the Catwalk (Boulevard of Sin).” Although it is unclear whether any of the songs showcased on tour will be given a proper release any time soon, the video is reassuring of the fact that Bejar has lots of good material left to release.
