Foo Fighters Return From Hiatus With Charity Show Featuring Lisa Loeb, Paul Stanley, Penny Farrell, Sammy Hagar, Steve Jones, And Stewart Copeland

Some may remember approximately 11 months ago, the world-famous alternative rock outfit Foo Fighters essentially trolled music journalists everywhere by releasing fake break-up video, featuring frontman Dave Grohl attempting to become a solo EDM musician.

The video was actually in response to growing rumors of the band permanently breaking up following their St. Cecilia EP, clarifying with a statement at the end: “For the millionth time, we’re not breaking up. And nobody’s going fucking solo!”

Well the Foos have kept their promise, and they are back with a bang. Playing huge surprise concert for a charity supporting area school sin Los Angeles last night, the band acted as a kind of a house band. Not only did they play many of their own songs, they also performed a slew of covers alongside a multitude of big-name guests.

Essentially, a few hundred donors had the chance to see the Foo Fighters back, in addition to Lisa Loeb, the Sex Pistols’ Steve Jones, the Police’s Stewart Copeland, Van Halen’s Sammy Hagar, Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell, and KISS’ Paul Stanley kicking out their own classics. Plus, Survivor host Jeff Probst even showed up for a Rolling Stones cover.

The night finished on a strong note, with a Led Zeppelin cover of “Whole Lotta Love” and “Rock and Roll” with Hagar and even the late Zeppelin drummer John Bonham’s son, Jason Bonham.
